Overview

Our 10-day trip brings you the highlights of Uganda: where the savanna meets the rainforest. Expect to see the animals of the savannas (lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, leopards) and up to 13 primate species, including chimpanzees. You won’t miss the black and white colobus, vervet, red-tailed, blue monkeys and olive baboons. The trip specifically includes the most important and well known tourism cities and national parks of Uganda: Fort Portal, Jinja, Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi National Park, Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo National Park and Source of the Nile.

Inclusion

Day by day program

Day 1: Entebbe – Fort Portal Uganda

After breakfast leave for Fort Portal, arrive and have lunch in Fort Portal then proceed to our hotel. Stay at Boulevard Excelsior Guest House/Kibale Forest Camp.

  • Driving time: 4 – 5 hours

Day 2: Kibale Forest Camp/Boulevard Excelsior Motel

Chimpanzee walk/tracking in the morning or in the afternoon. For people interested in primates and birds, and willing to make another walk, we can make a community walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary as well. It is also possible to visit the local people or the crater lakes.

  • Driving time: 10 – 30 minutes (depending on the lodge you are at)

Day 3: Kibale Forest Park – Queen Elizabeth, stay at Engiri Lodge/Bush lodge in QENP

After breakfast, transfer you to Queen Elizabeth national park. This allows you an en-route stopover at the Equator for photographs as well as performing a simple experiment to experience a tropical balance before proceeding for lunch. After lunch, proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park. After an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, proceed to the hotel. Stay at Engiri Lodge/Bush Lodge Queen Elizabeth in QENP.

Day 4: Game drive in QENP

Early in the morning, you will go for a game drive to view out the early risers, and predators returning to their hideouts along Kasenyi tracks and Queens Mile. This dawn drive offers you an opportunity to see Lions, Leopards, Giant Forest Hogs, Cape Buffaloes, Elephants, Defassa Waterbucks, Spotted hyenas, Uganda Kobs, Topi, Bushbucks and a range of bird species. After the game drive, return to the lodge for a hot lunch and then after lunch, evening crater lakes viewing at a close range. Return for an easy evening dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth – Ishasha Tree-climbing Lions – Bwindi

One this day head to the northern part of Queen Elizabeth park, search for tree-climbing lions. Other animals to see include topi, hartebeest. Then proceed to Bwindi Gorilla park.

  • Driving time 5-6 hours (depending on which part of Bwindi and permit availability).

Day 6: Bwindi – Mgahinga Gorilla Park Uganda

After breakfast, gorilla trekking. Start our morning tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable national park for over 3 – 6 hours. Have lunch, then relax in the afternoon to experience the sunset, cultural dance performance. Then have dinner. Stay at Ruhija Gorilla Friends/Rushaga Gorilla Camp/Gorilla Valley Lodge

Day 7: Bwindi – Lake Mburo National Park

On this day we drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Game drive in the park or a boat trip on Lake  Mburo in the afternoon. In the evening we stay at Rwakobo Rock Resort /Eagle’s Nest. Lake Mburo is one of the 2 national parks with zebras and the only national park with impalas in Uganda. There are no elephants and lions, so walking safaris are possible.

Day 8: To Jinja Through Mabira Forest

Morning game drive in the park or walking safari. Then proceed to Jinja through Mabira forest, roadside market, sugar and tea plantation. Stay at Source of the Smile/2 Friends’ Guest House.

  • Driving time: 6 – 7 hours

Day 9: White Water Rafting

White water rafting at the source of the Nile. Visit the second-longest river on the planet. A full day white water rafting adventure on the Nile. (Stay at the Source of the Nile).

Day 10: To Entebbe

Early morning transfer to Entebbe or Kampala
